Emergency Plumbing Services in Northeast Houston (77078)

When a pipe bursts, a sewer backs up or the water heater fails, you need to know what to do in the first few minutes. Here’s a quick guide for Northeast Houston homeowners. Call (844) 212 9767 to reach a local plumber.

Burst Pipe or Major Leak

Shut off the main water valve at the meter box near the street, turn off the water heater if the leak is on the hot side, and open a low faucet to drain the lines. See burst pipe repair.

Sewer Backup

Stop using all water in the house, keep people and pets away from sewage, and check whether neighbors are affected — if they are, report it to 311. See emergency sewer backup.

No Hot Water

For gas heaters, check whether the pilot is out; for electric, check the breaker. Water pooling around the tank means the tank has likely failed — shut off the cold supply valve on top of the heater. See water heater repair.

Gas Smell

Leave the house, don’t operate switches, and call your gas utility’s emergency line or 911 from outside. Once the utility makes it safe, a plumber can repair the gas line.

Plumbing in Northeast Houston Homes

Many homes in this part of the city date from the 1950s through the 70s, with original galvanized or copper supply lines, cast-iron drains and clay sewer laterals — the most common sources of emergency calls.
